Call for Applications – Entering Politics

A specialized training program for candidates running in the upcoming Knesset elections.

The Barak Leadership Center at Tel Aviv University is launching the Entering Politics program — a dedicated training initiative for those planning to run for the Knesset in the upcoming elections. The program will include a focused series of sessions offering practical tools for a successful transition from diverse professional fields into politics.

The program is designed to bridge the gap between a wide range of professional arenas — including the IDF, media, academia, civil society, high-tech, and business — and the political system. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges involved in entering the political arena: what it takes to be elected to the Knesset, how the system operates from within, and how to navigate work with the media and on social networks. The program will provide practical tools for moving from a professional career into public service, with guidance tailored to each participant’s unique background and life path.

Special emphasis will be placed on the meaning of political leadership in the age of artificial intelligence: how new tools are shaping public and political discourse, the risks and opportunities they create, and how they can be leveraged wisely, ethically, and effectively to advance meaningful public action.

Another distinctive focus of the program will address the importance of personal narrative on the path to national leadership in Israel. Participants will receive hands-on guidance in shaping a credible personal story that reflects values, vision, and a clear public identity.

The workshops, led by leading experts, will combine practical tools, up-to-date knowledge, meetings with public figures who transitioned into politics from other professional fields, and insights from both research and real-world practice.

The program is intended for individuals with high potential to integrate into public life as Members of Knesset. Accordingly, accepted candidates will receive a full scholarship.

The series will consist of four half-day sessions, held at Tel Aviv University.

Applications must be submitted by December 21, 2025, via the attached link.

Please attach a CV, a document of up to 1,000 words explaining why you are a good fit for the program, and two letters of recommendation.
